The Virginia Living Museum, Newport News, VA

Anyone who enjoys viewing wildlife will love spending time at the Virginia Living Museum. The Museum features several indoor galleries as well as an Aviary and boardwalk through natural areas where additional wildlife can be viewed and photographed. The Galleries at the Living Museum focus on the diverse geographic areas and habitats located throughout the state.  Plants and animals as well as sea creatures native to each area are featured in Coastal Plain, Appalachian Cove, Cypress Swamp and other displays.  Interesting artifacts are also included in the exhibits throughout the Living Museum. Visitors can see many different types of animals, birds, flowers, plants and trees up close at the Virginia Living Museum.  Red wolves, deer, beavers, opossums and bats all reside at the Museum.  Turtles, bullfrogs and fish are some of the other creatures you will see.  A variety of native butterflies can be spotted in the lovely outdoor butterfly garden at the Virginia Living Museum, as well.
