Whistler Blackcomb

canada, traveling

Tourists planning to have a vacation at Whistler Blackcomb often wonder how they would get there. While most tourists know that the ski resort is in British Columbia, they don’t know its exact whereabouts. Ultimately, these are the tourists who will pay the price of getting lost in British Columbia or missing out their entire Whistler Blackcomb vacation altogether. However, getting to Whistler Blackcomb is actually pretty easy and there are three ways that you can get there – by bus, by train, or by car.

There are two ways that you can get to Whistler Blackcomb by car. The best option is to take a plane to Vancouver city and take a rental car from there. From Vancouver city, you will drive for two hours along the Sea To Sky Highway for a distance of 115 kilometers. Traveling by car through this highway is considered the better option and one of the best things to do in Canada because of the sceneries that you can see along the way. However, an experienced driver is needed behind the wheel because the weather can affect the highway’s driving conditions. The second option by car would be to fly to Seattle and taking a car from there. This option is a longer drive though, lasting for four hours, and it is not as scenic as the Vancouver drive either.

Traveling with people with no experience with driving can go to Whistler Blackcomb by bus. To get to the resort by bus, tourists can take the YVR Whistler SkyLynx, the only bus transportation that brings tourists directly to Whistler Blackcomb from Vancouver’s airport. This bus also stops over at the hotels of downtown Vancouver from which passengers could also embark. Ski Express is also another bus transportation that travels between Vancouver and Whistler Village, regardless of the season. There’s also the Snowbus which is only available during winter season. The Snowbus does have the widest coverage as it takes passengers from Northern and Western Vancouver, Richmond, and Burnaby.

From Vancouver, tourists can also board the Whistler Mountaineer train to take them to Whistler Blackcomb. Similar to getting there by car, it provides scenic views of surrounding valleys and snow capped mountains.
