Linux DVR Software To Be Installed In The Laptop

I have 3 laptops and I only use 2.  One for my online job, the other one for my personal use.  So my husband is thinking of making the 3 one linux based instead of windows based like my other 2 laptop.  I said that is fine with me so we can familiarize ourselves with linux as I am thinking of buying a much smaller and cheaper laptop that I can always bring with me wherever I go.  That laptop is Linux based.  So my husband is looking for Linux DVR Software that he could use and install in the third laptop.  Actually he uses it more than me.  That is where he downloads his psp games and movies.
