There are times when government agencies need information fast. This can mean less wait for disabled people who have been denied social security, for example. A speech recognition system can be key because it cuts down on the time it takes to send an appeal to a judge who reviews the case. Then, instead of the ruling having to be sent to be transcribed and then returned to the original judge, the ruling can be sent directly from the judge who reviewed the appeal back to the person awaiting the answer on the appeal. This means not only shorter wait-times, but also a cost savings to Americans.
