These days many families across the board are trying to find cost-effective solutions to incorporate into their daily lives. And those with infants know all too well, that diapers can be a big bill when looking at total cost across an entire year. But there’s also some healthier benefits to using cloth diapers that many parents are not aware of. Typical diapers are made up of chemicals and plastics and other elements that can cause their baby to break out in rashes or other unpleasant situations. Whereas cloth diapers are far more comfortable; and washed routinely every few days eliminating many of those hazards. Not only that, but dealing with the waste of typical diapers can create its own mess. By using cloth diapers it’s a healthier alternative for the babies and for the environment. A lot of parents have considered it but think that it’s too difficult, or too time-consuming to create cloth diapers. But that’s not the case at all. They’re actually quite easy to make and with some basic sewing know how, this solution can be a smooth transition. Many of the supplies can be found around the home already. Fleece and flannel make great materials for this and are absorbent to begin with. These cloths can be cut out of wears not even been used. And inventory should be taken on how many diapers the baby typically goes through during one day. Then multiplying this by three, would give a three-day supply. The pattern for the diapers can be traced from a disposable one. They can add thicker layers to the soil area, to ensure the waste doesn’t seep and stays in the diaper. Thin elastic can be sewn in the fabric around the legs for a snug fit. Then it’s just a matter of adding the snaps; either with buttons sewn on, or Velcro to make things very easy. The total process should take maybe only a day. It’s an easy investment. And one that can save hundreds if not thousands of dollars throughout a little one’s baby years, and making it a much more comfortable experience for the baby as well. They’ll be thanking the parents for it.
