Horse’s Pets?

A friend of mine owns a farm and boards about ten horses. The other day I went over to visit and learned that all of the horses she boards have pets of their own. Apparently horses get lonely and like the have a companion and companions for them usually come in the form of a smaller animal as a pet. Most of the horses my friend boards have cats as pets. The cats sleep in their stall with them, walk through the fields with them, and even eat with them. Both are reliant on the other for friendship and company.
