Why Vegetarian Nutrition Is An Effective Anti-Global Warming Strategy

When thinking about global warming strategies most people immediately conjure up images of wind turbines, solar panels and energy-saving devices. Emission-reducing laws are next.

But vegetarian nutrition? Nah, still a feel-good hang-over from the hippie sixties surely.

Think again. Lets just take two aspects here. Water and energy. Clean water scarcity plagues a large proportion of the world population. And you know the score about energy.

Did you know that it takes fifteen times more water to produce animal meat than it takes to produce the plant equivalent in protein? Or that it takes some 16 pounds of legumes or grain to produce one pound of beef?

Well that’s just the tip of the iceberg. Whoops! It’s melting!

To conclude quickly lets just suggest that vegetarian nutrition is a powerful change in behavior that, if many people made it, could save us from the worst effects of climate change.
