Does the woman ever have to pay Alimony?

This may seem like a rather odd question, but I am wondering if the wife was the primary bread winner, would she have to pay alimony? My sister is going through a rather nasty divorce and her soon to be ex is threatening her with this possibility. He told her that she had to help him stay in the lifestyle he had become accustomed to. The really odd thing about it is that the majority of the arguments that lead toward this divorce were his insecurities about how much money she made. Now he is using this issue for his own gain. Could she really have to pay him?
