Can anyone tell me how candlestick investing works?

I am really interested in learning more about the different systems people use when they are investing in the stock market. One of the systems I have been hearing a lot about lately is candlestick investing, and I am wondering if anyone can tell me how this works, and where I can find out more about it. I would like to try using this system for a bit just on paper to see if I can actually make money using it, and then if it seems that it helps me to do better with the stock market I will try actually buying stock.
