campfire cookin’

There’s so much stuff I really love doing when I’m camping.  The hiking, the peace and quiet, the fresh air.  The one thing I think I might just love more than all the others though is cooking over a campfire.  Does anything bring back memories like making smores over an open flame?  For me, the gooey, chocolatey goodness just can’t be matched by any gourmet pastry chef.  Of course, there’s more to campfire cooking than just smores and hot dogs.  You can really go as gourmet as you like (no foolin’) with rather simple tools.  For example, just get yourself a dutch oven and a few simple tools, and you’ll be doing quite well.
