Lipid Profiles To Check Triglycerides
When a lipid profile is done three parameters will be studied, namely the HDL, LDL and then the triglycerides. HDL is good cholesterol and LDL is bad cholesterol and triglycerides is correlated to LDL and if the profile shows high triglyceride levels the LDL will usually be high indicating a risk to heart. Triglycerides >199 mg/dL are high and if the triglyceride are <150 mg/dL then the blood has low triglyceride levels which is kind of unusal. The low triglyceride values indicate some important clues such as consumption of a low fat diet, hyperthyroidism, malabsorption syndrome, and or malnutrition. So even low triglyceride levels are undesirable and and one should check with a clinician immediately.
