Controllable High Blood Pressure Risk Factors.

Although there are some risk factors for high blood pressure which you cannot control (such as age, race and family history) there are also many factors which are within your control. You can for example reduce your risk considerably by ensuring that you keep your weight down to a reasonable level and that you take some form or regular exercise. This does not mean having to go to the gym five times a week, but it does mean engaging is some form of physical activity for at least 30 minutes or so every day. Tobacco and alcohol can also cause problems and you should cut out the former altogether and consume the latter only in moderation. Finally, you should watch your diet and, in particular, ensure that you are not eating too much salt.
