I have a friend who comes from a very large family and by large, I mean obese. Luckily, she somehow escaped the obesity disease but her brother is seriously looking into gastric bypass to help him lose weight. Recently their father died of obesity complications and I believe that was a real wake up call for the family members. He has been going for consultations at a local hospital and they do consider him a candidate for the procedure. I hope that this works out for him because is a great person who just happens to be overweight and miserable about it.
