Alaska’s Leading Role in Reducing Marine Habitat Loss

Commercial fishing operations throughout the world’s rivers and oceans have really done a number on the habitat of the many species of seafood we consume on a regular basis (not to mention the countless other animal species affected by such species).  However, in places like Alaska there has been a long and rigorous coordinated effort to minimize the extent and degree of habitat damage in marine environments.  Thanks to such conscientious efforts, there are fortunately still tracts of marine habitat that remain at historically healthy levels.
