Verizon Fios A New Cable TV Option
14 November 2008
For over 100 years now, people have relied on the local phone company to provide them with the ability to communicate with others down the street and across the country. Verizon is one such local company that provides local service as well as cell phone technology.
Recently though the phone company has faced increased competition from cable TV companies like Comcast. These cable operators have upgraded their networks in order to offer phone service in addition to pay television and high speed internet.
Turnabout is fair play of course, so Verizon has upgraded their old copper lines into a state of the art fiber optic network. This has allowed them to offer cable TV via their Verizon Fios offering. Now customers can get a triple play bundle of voice, video, and internet through the phone company or the cable company. Competition resulting from this lowers prices overall for subscribers.
