Verizon Fios A New Cable TV Option

14 November 2008

For over 100 years now, people have relied on the local phone company to provide them with the ability to communicate with others down the street and across the country. Verizon is one such local company that provides local service as well as cell phone technology.

Recently though the phone company has faced increased competition from cable TV companies like Comcast. These cable operators have upgraded their networks in order to offer phone service in addition to pay television and high speed internet.

Turnabout is fair play of course, so Verizon has upgraded their old copper lines into a state of the art fiber optic network. This has allowed them to offer cable TV via their Verizon Fios offering. Now customers can get a triple play bundle of voice, video, and internet through the phone company or the cable company. Competition resulting from this lowers prices overall for subscribers.

Can Recruiting Software Make or Break Your Firm?

14 November 2008

Owners or managers of recruiting departments or recruiting firms often have a hard time deciding which products to buy that will best work with their business. One of the decisions many owners or managers agonize over is the brand of recruiting software to purchase. It’s as if they believe that the software will make or break their firm. It is unlikely that recruiting software will be responsible for the success of failure of a business. Software is a tool that can be utilized by people to make their jobs easier and more efficient. If you have productive employees who are the best at what they do, then the type of software you use shouldn’t make that much difference.

Remake Contra 3

13 November 2008

Contra 3 was one of the best games out there for the SNES. Personally it was my favorite because of all the awesome guns and the great atmosphere. I am just so sick of all the rehashed games out there today. I managed to quench my thirst a little by playing the game on a R4 DS for the DS Lite but I really want them to remake it. I would totally buy the game if it had better graphics. However, if there are any contra fans out there, you can play the game with an R4 card and a DS if you download the right emulators

I have started using it, and I am so impressed at the quality as well as the amount of channels that I get with this computer based TV program.

Gears of War 2 Chainsaw Duels

10 November 2008

Everybody who has every played Gears of War will at least look favorably on the chainsaw bayonet. It was probably one of the defining moments in gaming history and one of the most creative takes on the chainsaw. Xbox 360 Blog said that Gears of War 2 will try to improve on the chainsaw bayonet by having chainsaw bayonet duels when 2 players both have their saws revved, a button mashing contest will ensue and the person with the buffer thumbs will probably win and kill the other one. This is an interesting new mechanic and could be a great feature!

Too many dropped calls with the iPhone

04 November 2008

The Apple iPhone 3G is an impressive phone, but there are many things I don’t like about it. While the iPhone 3G has many great features of a smart phone, it isn’t the best cell phone I’ve ever used. When using my iPhone 3G I have noticed a lot of dropped calls with the 3G network. Others have complained of too many dropped calls on sites like iPhone News. I’ve had my share of dropped calls on other cell phones I’ve had in the past, but nothing like this. At least every other call I make drops. I can’t talk on my phone more than 2 or 3 minutes without a call dropping.
