Finalizing the Sale

10 November 2009

My house has been on the market for over sixteen months and I have just had to deal with it.  Maybe that is why I am so impatient for everything to be finalized nw that the conveyancing has started.  I know that things could still fall through, but so far everything looks good.  I have started looking for a new place, but I will not sign anything until the house is sold.  I am putting the final closing out a few fews so that I will have time to get in a new place.  I already have most of my packing done, so I am just waiting.

Daily Specials

09 November 2009

Hope everyone is enjoying the end of this long summer weekend.  I didn’t have much planned in advance for myself, but lesson learned…next year I’ll take advantage and travel somewhere exciting. Saturday afternoon, my wife and I had brunch at Market Table on Carmine Street. The restaurant was relatively quiet and calm, unlike the usual chaos that it is during the brunch hours. Bright and sunny, the windows were open, and the coffee made from their braun 4 cup coffee maker  was hot. The two daily specials scripted on a chalkboard wall were the Cobb Salad and the Heirloom Tomato Salad. We craved substance, and the sort of saltiness that only bacon could offer…so naturally went with the Cobb…and were taken aback by just how salty (SO SALTY) the salad was, copious quantities of blue cheese laced on every piece of lettuce. That aside, the bacon was super crunchy, and just swell, even if the presentation was a bit tiring :)

The Real Deal In Fish Accessories

09 November 2009

Finding really good pricing online in the fish department has been tough for me.  I want to save as  much money as possible, but my local store was always able to beat any price that I found online.  That is mostly the reason why i have stayed with them so many years.  But this last order that I had they could not compete with.  It was an order of fish food, one fish tank, and a bunch of minnow nets.  They had my local store beat by almost $50 and made it impossible for me to pass up.  I am all about the best price and service.

you might want to try installing vertical blinds

08 November 2009

If you want to have a different look for your windows, you might want to try installing vertical blinds. That’s what I did when I was bored with my old blinds. I am not regretting what I did. They’re worth every penny that I spent. It’s also the first thing that my visitors noticed when I invited them at my house. They liked it so much the way that I did. I think they even asked me where I bought so that they’ll check it out. Of course, I told them where I got them. In fact, I even went with them.window shutter

Not so Good

07 November 2009

We just ate a while ago.  The croutons were rock-hard. They did use mostly hearts of romaine, which is a plus–the sizzler uses the whole head. Next, I had a burger with their “famous” parmesan fries. The burger was pleasant enough, good slices of bacon and cheese, but perhaps nothing to write home about. The “famous” fries were just mediocre french fries with parmesan cheese grated on top, maybe too late to get it all melted. Debbie had three-cheese ravioli, which were OK, but not much better than what you’d get in the refrigerator section at Safeway. The sauce was a bit uninteresting. The only thing I really liked was the coffee they served, it was quite tasty because they used Flavored coffee pods.

Some Garage Organization Ideas Guided My Project

07 November 2009

I knew that my garage needed some serious help, but I am on a very tight budget. I wanted to find some products for storage and that would reduce clutter, so I went online to see what I could find in the way of garage organization ideas. I had a basic project in mind, but I needed some guidance to see my idea through. I found exactly what I was looking for, and the prices were very affordable. Now that everything is complete, it looks neat and clean, and I can always find what I am looking for. I feel so much better now that it is organized!

Quest for Wider Shoes

05 November 2009

I am on a quest to have Women’s Shoes made wider.  I feel like the manufacturers are discriminating against wide footed women.  You would never go into the men’s shoe department and find only narrow shoes, why should it be that way in women’s? There are plenty of styles that could just as easily be made in a wider way and not change the overall look of the shoe.  I have even gone so far as to write several different shoe companies and I’m awaiting replies.  Additionally, I’ve emailed several buyers of large department stores to let them know that there is an audience out here for wide shoes. Hopefully, eventually they will all get the message and we’ll get a better selection of shoes.

Christian Resources for Your Kids

05 November 2009

There is no denying that children at young age can be affected greatly when we expose them to things that center on Christianity. If children are exposed to good things regularly, they will also understand better what we believe in. This is a good way to help them grow as a good person with firm foundation and a high level of faith. This is why should expose our children to Christian products such as books, greeting cards etc. There are now stores that specialize in Christian resources. Our children are exposed to too many negative things in this world already. Exposing them to Christian products will limit the negative information they take.

Trainers in Demand

05 November 2009

As people become more conscious about health and the many benefits of maintaining good health, personal trainers are in more and more demand. Those who have personal trainer certification are more highly paid, are more secure in their jobs, and are more qualified to work effectively with their clients. The NFPT web site offers three ways to prepare for the personal trainer certification test. The home study course is self paced, but very comprehensive. The online distance learning option is far more structured in an eight week program. The group option is available to multiple trainers at a single facility and offers a reduced rate.

The Architect in Glasgow

04 November 2009

Architectural engineers are specialized engineers in the architectural profession in which other disciplines of engineering overlap. Architect engineers have to work as team to offer a design that provides unique image and identity, yet preserves aesthetics of a particular community.

A well conceived design is a customizable approach, contains rich visuals, and creates positive reply.

Time site analysis and precision in designs, client security, and effective time schedule to complete project are important features of an architectural or engineering firm. Architectural engineers with specialization in structures may understand and accommodate not only structural wants for a building, but also architectural, plumbing, electric, transportation, and acoustic necessities.

the Queen got a taste for pizza

30 October 2009

Wherever pizza evolved from there is general consensus that the pizza we know today was developed and eaten by peasants in Naples Italy in the early 1800sThey created a dish of flattened dough that was topped with olive oil tomatoes and mozzarella cheese and soon the first pizza restaurant was opened in Naples in 1830At the time pizza was generally considered a peasant food and not appropriate to those of more royal or upper class standingsThis all changed in 1889  when Queen Margherita and King Umberto I toured the Italian kingdomWhile in Naples the Queen got a taste for pizza and summoned local pizza restaurant owner Raffaele Esposito to create a selection of pizzas for herAsking where pizza came from may seem like a simple questionAfter all its generally accepted that pizza originates from Italy but there are several theories as to where the original idea for pizza was actually developedSome say that pizza came from the Greeks who bought their plankuntos to Italy flat round bread that was baked with various toppingsOthers argue that pizza came from the pita bread of the Middle East while yet more say that it came from the unleavened matzo bread that Italian legionnaires bought to RomeYet another theory is that pizza evolved from foccacia bread a favourite snack that was eaten in Rome some 1000 years ago pizza
