Rocket Italian Review

11 April 2008

Relatively, Italian may sound difficult at first, but really its is quite an easy language to learn, compared to English. This is due to the phonetics of the language, and the fact that the way you read, write and pronounce the letters and words is the actual way you would spell the words. Put simply, the way you read the word is the way you pronounce the word Rocket Italian Review. There is no doubt that the best way to learn Italian quickly is full immersion, for example going to live in Italy, but obviously for many of us that’s not an option.

Learn Spanish Software

09 April 2008

There are plenty of language self learning programs on the market these days. Some are quite expensive and some seem like a reasonable price but surely the ultimate judge of value for money is whether the product has managed to teach you to speak Spanish. Can you learn to speak Spanish from just a book and/or a CD or MP3? Well, kind of. This article will cover the advantages and disadvantages of using an audio language course to learn Spanish with learn Spanish software. To begin, I think if you only have an audio course then you are learning the language the way you learned your native language.

Tattoos for Women

04 April 2008

What are the most popular tattoos for women? I seem to see the lower back tattoos the most often, but that does not appeal to me at all. I would rather have something small and more or less hidden. I would also like something a little bit original, so it would be nice to know the most popular designs so I could choose something different rather than just following the crowd. I’m sure heart designs, butterlies and flowers must be popular, and I know of a bunch of people who have gotten Chinese characters with different meanings. What are the other popular designs?

Jupiter

02 April 2008

Jupiter is both the roman name of the Greek god of the sky and one of the nine planets found in our solar system, the Milky Way.  This is one example of how the real world relates to mythology.  Both have surprisingly similar characteristics.  For one thing, Jupiter is the most massive planet and Jupiter is the most powerful god of all the other Greek gods in mythology, performing feats perhaps akin to magic tricks.  This shows that both the planet and the god have control and are overpowering.  The two are also similar in that they both have weather characteristics.  The planet Jupiter has a high velocity of winds and the god Jupiter is the god of sky, rain, thunder, and lightning.

Elk herd to increase eastern Iowa tourism

31 March 2008

Eastern Iowa tourism will undoubtedly increase once the herd of wild elk are brought to the state and we open a hunting season. The white tail deer grow the largest in this state than any other, why would we not think the same thing will happen to the elk. Given a few years for the population to increase and the animals to grow in size and we should be able to attract hunter from across the globe to hunt the massive beasts. Of course the farmers won’t like the idea much as more and more of their corn crop will go towards feeding the animals.

Some learn Japanese software

26 March 2008

This success was due not to any innate linguistic talent of mine but rather to having worked out ways of studying smart. I prefer the type that comes in packs of 100 cards and are bound by a single metal ring learn Japanese software. When studying for the JLPT, I filled 35 packs of these cards, or the equivalent of 3,500 words and phrases. Carry a pack everywhere you go and write down every word you come across that you do not recognize. This works because the act of writing each kanji or grammatical phrase down goes a long way toward memorizing them. I recommend using these cards over electronic kanji or word dictionaries.

Central Iowa coffee stop planned

24 March 2008

The central Iowa tourism region center is going to be giving away free coffee at the rest stops in the area this Memorial Day. Memorial Day is the unofficial start of summer and that is one of the biggest travel days of the year. It is also one of the biggest drinking days of the year and those two things don’t mix. In an effort to cut down on the number of accidents during that day the idea was hatched to get some caffeine into the drivers to counteract the effects of the alcohol. At the least it will cause the drivers to take a break and wake up.

Does Iowa need to advertise corn?

09 March 2008

The one thing you will notice about Iowa tourism is that almost every ad you see shows a cornfield somewhere in the picture. Now why does the whole state think they need to advertise that we grow corn here? It’s not like the world doesn’t already know that, well at least most of the world, the people on the east coast think we grow potatoes but to most of them Iowa is just a figment of someone’s imagination anyway. We are also the largest producer of soy beans, but does a been field ever make it into those photos? No.

Eastern Iowa taxes

07 March 2008

Sometimes the road you are on takes you down a different path. Take the time when I was exploring eastern Iowa tourism and I found out there were other states close by. I went over into Illinois just to see how much different things were on that side of the river and I found out the only things different were driven completely by the tax structure difference between the two states. The cost of a pack of cigarettes and a six pack of beer were both controlled more by how much it was taxed than the value of the product.

David Blaine in New York

06 March 2008

I was in New york city the other day and happen to run into david blaine performing in Lincoln Center.  It was his living in a bubble full of water for a week stunt that was buzzing all over the television.  I have to admit that it felt surreal to actually see that he does actually perform these stunts and real people can walk by and encourage him to continue on.  He actually seemed lively and excited to see all the spectators pointing and taking pictures.  I saw a few celebrities like Chris Rock and his family that stopped by to have a short conversation with David Blaine.  Chris Rock would ask a question and then David Blaine would write his reply on a waterproof marker board he carried with him in the tank.  All in all, this was a really cool afternoon that I have many pictures to remember it with.

Read the Iowa travel guide

02 March 2008

The best way to decide where to go on your weekend trip is to pick up a copy of the Iowa travel guide and leaf through the pages. Not all attractions appeal to all people but the guide gives the reader a quick and concise way to find the attractions in the area. Many people have even found attractions in their own back yard that they didn’t even know existed. The guide even has website links listed where one can go to further research the attractions that they might want to go see. The guide is published yearly with new attractions listed in each printing.

Northeast Iowa seasons

01 March 2008

Northeast Iowa tourism is all about the terrain. In spring the new green growth just shouts that spring has sprung. It’s a great time for lovers to walk through the woods. Summer is more about the river areas. Just sitting along the Mississippi dangling your feet in the water brings back memories of childhood. Fall is the most colorful time with acre upon acre of trees with their leaves turning a multitude of colors. Winter brings a much quieter time. With the land being covered by layers of soft downy snow sound can only travel for a few yards before it is absorbed.
