Turned it off!

Here’s an important tip for those of you who will be making how to videos: before you begin recording, make sure to turn off such things as e-mail alerts, appointment reminders, and logout or disable any instant messaging or computer-to-computer telephone services. If you leave yourself logged in to the services and applications, you run the risk of having an alert sound, or a message flash on your screen — right in the middle of producing your video! I have had this happen to me several times, and so I have learned from hard experience to turn all of these beepers and buzzers off before I begin recording my video.
