offshore drilling

In response to skyrocketing oil prices President Bush has decided to lift the presidential moratorium on offshore drilling.  There are a lot of smart things people are doing in response to high gas prices – driving less – using public transportation more – buying fewer gas guzzling suvs and more hybrids – however, lifting the ban on offshore drilling is not one of those smart things.  This, my friends, is what’s called a gimmick.  A symbol that those big wigs in the government are taking action against high oil prices when that really isn’t the case at all.  Fortunately, Americans are actually smarter than we’re given credit for and most people are seeing this for what it is – another stupid move by a dumb man.
