Our Patent Attorney Filed An Opposition

We had developed a product that we thought would make us rich and when we started to do the research to obtain a patent on it we discovered that a former co-worker had already applied for a patent. There is no way that he could have developed it on his own and we knew that he must have taken our idea and submitted it. We were going to hire a patent attorney anyway but now we had to hire one to file and opposition instead of a patent. It delayed out patent by months while we waited for the attorney to sort it out before the United States Patent and Trademark Office
